Just a very brief word from me this week wishing all the Year 11’s the very best of luck in their revision over the Easter break.  Every student comes home with a wealth of revision links to ensure that they can target their efforts to best effect and the timetable for the continuing intensive revision sessions after half term.

In our KS3 and KS4 Easter assemblies we celebrated the very best of Belvoir with some brilliant solo musical performances and a recap of our students fantastic achievements.  Please forgive me for repeating that it is both the individual and collective efforts of our students, your children, that make this such a fantastic place to learn and work!  During assembly we said goodbye to Mrs Lloyd who takes up a new headship post after the Easter holidays.  She has worked here at Belvoir for twelve years, starting as Head of PE then moving to the leadership team five years ago.  Her role in guiding the school through its secure transition to the Priory Federation has been invaluable and she will be missed by colleagues and students alike.  We will be welcoming Mr Oliver who joins us from the Priory Ruskin to take up the post of Deputy Headteacher.  He has been working alongside Mrs Lloyd this term and is looking forward to meeting with parents at events in the Summer term. 

This morning, I received the following email from a member of public and I think that it embraces that spirit and ethos which runs through Belvoir:

“I live in Bottesford and I have an unerring ability to time my visit to the Post Office ten minutes after school finishes. As I arrived, there was a swathe of your students outside the shop and more inside. Large numbers of teenagers is not for the faint-hearted and there are those who would have turned tail and come back another time, but I decided to stick with it. Inside the shop as I queued there were a lot of students also waiting. However I would like to pay tribute to them. They were impeccably well-behaved and well mannered, and were an absolute credit to you and your staff and their families. Young folk do not always get a great press, but this group were friendly and polite, and deserve to be commended.”
