The end of an academic year is a time for both reflection on past success and anticipation of new challenges to come.  As an academy we can reflect on every single area of school life with pride with students achieving both academic success and personal development.  The key to that success is their commitment as individuals and, when they come together as a body, their collective drive to be the best they can be.

Students enjoyed their rewards trips and activities today from Paintballing to Photography and from Science experiments to the Smiler at Alton Towers.  Tomorrow our house assemblies will again celebrate the very best of Belvoir and we will be rewarding all the students who have achieved in Peacock Pride.

A very big thank you to those parents who have already generously donated books to the school Library from our Amazon Wish List. There is still time to donate if you would like to, just click on   https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3CYX1W0DNMX4X?&sort=default  and make your selection. Let’s get our children reading!

We say goodbye to a number of staff this year following promotions, world travel opportunities, career changes and pastures new.  We welcome new teachers to the Belvoir family and you will have the opportunity to meet many of these staff at various events early in the new term.  I am sure that all colleagues will not mind if I single out just one of the staff who retires this year and that is Mr Currier.  He leaves the teaching profession today after 47 years of dedicated service with the last twelve here at Belvoir.  Mr Currier has predominantly led KS4 tutor groups and I know from speaking to colleagues and students that he generously shares his subject knowledge in the department, cared deeply for his many tutees and been a true supporter of the Belvoir ethos and values. He teaches day in day out with his classroom door ajar and the dulcet Midlands tones will be sorely missed in the Winterbeck building – thank you and happy retirement from all your students and colleagues (past and present).
