DUKE OF EDINBURGH (DOFE)
For years, The Priory Belvoir Academy has been proud to run the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and it just keeps getting better. This is one of the most exciting, respected, future‑boosting programmes out there, and we believe every Year 10 student deserves the chance to jump in and experience it for themselves. DofE builds confidence, character, and team spirit the kind of qualities that make you stand out wherever you go.
As students move through the Award, something amazing happens: they grow braver, stronger, more independent. They learn to lead, to support others, and to push past limits they didn’t even know they had. At Bronze level, they take on four dynamic sections volunteering, skills, physical activity, and the unforgettable expedition. Along the way, they discover what they’re great at, what drives them, and how to organise their time like absolute pros.
And the best part? DofE is for everyone, the gamers, DJ’s, skaters, bikers, bakers, dress‑makers, film‑makers and change‑makers, wheelchair racers, dancers, and the none‑of‑the‑abovers. If you’re you, you belong here.
This is a chance to create incredible memories with friends, laugh until it hurts, and shape a future you’ll be proud of. These are the moments you’ll talk about for years.
DofE turns passions and the things you’ve always wanted to try into real‑world skills that help you get a job, make an impact, and take on whatever life throws your way. And yes… there’s camping, But that’s where the best stories, the biggest laughs, and the strongest friendships are made.
Introduction by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (from the official Duke of Edinburgh’s Award website)
“Young people growing up in this modern complicated world have many difficulties to face, and opportunities for personal achievement are often limited. At the same time, parents, teachers, voluntary organisation leaders and employers, who recognise their responsibilities towards young people, also have their problems. This scheme is intended to help both the young as well as those who are concerned for their welfare.”
Priory Belvoir Academy are pleased to share that the Duke of Edinburgh Award participants have undertaken many hours of volunteering around the local community. This is an amazing achievement from all the participants and they should be immensely proud of themselves for their continued efforts.
