Sport

The PE department offer a wide range of opportunities for everyone to get involved in physical activity and sport.  We encourage all students to get involved in the programme, but for those that may consider taking GCSE PE it is fundamental in developing skills and understanding of a range of different sports. The activities will change dependent on the time of year, activities covered in lessons and school fixtures against other schools. Currently the activities we offer are:

School fixtures are mostly linked to the Leicestershire and Rutland Sport programme when we compete against the schools in our Leicestershire and Rutland region.  If we win this regional competition, we will progress into the knock-out rounds against other schools in the county.

In this local competition we will have teams in:

  • Football

  • Netball

  • Basketball

  • Rugby

  • Badminton

  • Rounders

  • Athletics

  • Tennis

In addition, we will usually organise other fixtures against schools in a variety of other sports including handball, volleyball, table-tennis, softball and cricket.  Information about fixtures is shared with students through our PE ambassadors who will go round with team sheets with details of dates, team selections and finish time.  We also aim to publish information about fixtures on our PE department twitter page @PrioryBelvoirPE
