Mr Dominic Cullen

Dominic is originally from Swindon, Wiltshire but has lived in the Nottingham area since graduating from Nottingham University in 1992. He lives in Bottesford with his wife Colette and his five children. All his children have attend the school with just his youngest son still at the academy.  

Dominic taught Mathematics for 11 years, including 5 years as Head of Maths at a successful Nottingham Comprehensive. He now teaches on a voluntary basis one day a week at Belvoir Academy.

His business interests include property investment, thoroughbred breeding, insurance underwriting and proprietary derivative trading.  In his spare time, Dominic is a keen sports fan, he plays vets football, and enjoys chess and poker!

Mr Kerry Symmons

Kerry is originally from Lincoln, studied at De Montfort University until 1996 graduating with a BSc in Sport, Masters in Leisure Management and a PGCE in Physical Education. He has lived in Bottesford for 12 years with his wife and two daughters. 

Kerry is a current Head of Department and Senior Leadership Team member at his current school. He has undertaken many international school ski trips and taken student-led expeditions around the world.  

He enjoys staying physically active, holidaying in France and walking his dog.

Ms Lorraine Ainscough

Lorraine is originally from Oakham in Rutland, and has lived in Bottesford for around 10 years. Both her daughters attended the academy. 

Lorraine currently works as a Business Unit Manager for Essity Hygiene Products UK, managing accounts for UK retailers. Alongside this she is studying for an MSc in Psychology & Neuroscience at Kings College London.

Her interests outside of work and study include running and cycling, as well as spending as much time in the kitchen as possible baking and cooking!

Miss Kate Beardmore

Kate was born and brought up in Lincolnshire, the eldest of four siblings. She graduated in Law and qualified as a solicitor in 1994 initially working in the family law firm with her father and grandfather in Grantham.

After spending some time as a partner and Head of Department in a law firm in Newark, she secured employment as a Senior Crown Prosecutor with the CPS East Midlands. This has given her the opportunity to undertake a number of roles including champion of Hate Crime, trainer and Equality and Diversity, Head of LGBT policy as well as prosecuting trials and advising the police on charge. Kate is a qualified swimming instructor and teaches all levels with Muskham Swim Club.  She has two sons and moved to Bottesford in March 2020 so her eldest could secure his place at The Academy.  She is always keen to give something back to the school.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports with her children and walking the family dog, Freddie

Mr Gordon Fensom

Gordon is originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, and moved to Bottesford in 2002. He lives in Normanton with his wife and daughter. He also has three grown-up children who live outside the area. His youngest daughter attends Priory Belvoir Academy starting in Year 8 in August 2021. He has four grandchildren. 

Since 2006, Gordon has been self-employed. He designs, writes and delivers training courses for adult learners who are drawn from a wide spectrum of commercial, charitable and Public-Sector clients. Prior to this, he spent 29 years in the finance industry working worked on several  projects across the world. 

Outside of work, Gordon served for three years on the Parish Council. He is treasurer for The Friends of St Mary's, and also edits and distributes the bi-monthly Village Voice magazine.

Mrs Elisabeth Taoudi 

Liz is originally from France but has lived in the UK for the last 25 years.  She lives in Waltham and currently has two children at the Academy.  Having been introduced by a friend to the idea of being a Governor, Liz became a Local Authority Governor at a local primary school.  Liz is enthusiastic about making a difference in both primary and higher education and is particularly looking forward to supporting the Academy. 

Liz is a practicing in-house lawyer specialising in Commercial Law and Data Privacy and has worked with multiple businesses and institutions in both the private and public sector for over eight years.   

Outside of work, Liz is a keen traveller and a bit of a petrol head, sometimes combining both!  She also enjoys being active outdoors with her children and dogs.
