Summer School

The Priory Belvoir Academy - Summer School 2021

During the Summer holidays in 2021 The Priory Belvoir Academy delivered a Summer School programme which was available to those students who are disadvantaged, have additional needs or who were identified by their primary school who would benefit from an enhanced induction week and due to start Year 7 with us in August 2021. 41 places were offered across 5 full days of activities and 20 students confirmed their attendance.

Summer School ran from Monday 12th  – Friday 16th July and during those days students were engaged in English and Maths sessions as well as enrichment activities such as team building, orienteering, problem solving, inclusive sports, athletics, languages, arts and crafts and cooking activities incorporating a focus on literacy and numeracy and developing new friendships.

During the activities students were able to familiarise themselves with the academy site and see the facilities we have as well as meet some of the Year 7 pastoral team, including the Head of Year, which paved the way for a seamless transition to their new phase of education.

All students received a free lunch and snacks during the week as well as enjoying the food they cooked as part of their activities.

The Priory Belvoir Academy received funding from the government of £4113.44 to enable the programme to be delivered. A breakdown of how the funding was spent can be seen below.
